Emerald Bank Headquarters

Erbil, Kurdistan- Irak

The guiding strategy was a conceptual balance between the old history and the new contemporary high-tech present. Therefore, two volumes are designed in dialogue with each other. A high-tech curved curtain wall housing the headquarters in contrast to a two-story branch featuring a stone inspired by the great Citadel of Erbil. Green surfaces in the full height glazed lobby, and terraces create a mediating ground in which both the old and new meet.
